The "gameop" command provides a menu of special sysop/gameop functions:

- Online editing of:

  Rooms (descriptions, factors, etc)
  Monsters (factors, items carried, etc)
Items (in posession by online characters, currently on the ground
somewhere, or in the item template file)
Users (online or in the file)
  Permanant monster locations
  Mercantile Catalogs
  Office-holders

Online editing is covered in detail in the "Sysop" information document,
  available from the main menu.

- Reload CNF options from the MUICHAOS.MSG file

CNF settings are normally only read during init. However, if you use an
online MCV editing utility (such as HWSMCV) to change CNF options while the
BBS is up, you can then use this option to reload the changed settings into
the game (otherwise, the changes will not go into affect until the next
time you bring up the BBS).

Caveat: there are a few smallish memory leaks associated with this process,
so it's probably not a good idea to do it repeatedly during a single online
session. Five or ten times should be safe, any more than that and you're
  on your own.

Warning: it is not possible to change the values for MAXROOM, MAXMON or
MAXITEM while the BBS is running. Reserve changes to those three options
for when the BBS is down.

- Manually start an invasion

You specify which monster is invading (by it's monster file index number).
Additionally, you may also specify any or all of the following:

  - level of the invaders
  - number of invaders
  - invasion origin room
  - duration of invasion (minutes)
  - whether or not the heir is held captive by the invaders

Pressing [ENTER] for any of the above queries will result in their being
determined in their normal random fashion.

If you select this option during a currently ongoing invasion, the current
invasion will immediately end. Once you finish specifying your invasion
parameters, the next invasion will begin immediately.

- Locate monsters and items

This is handy for for tracking down items and monsters. Simply specify the
name (abbreviations acceptable) of the monster or item you're interested
in. You will be given the data file indexes for any matches found.
Additionally, in the case of items you will be given the names and indexes
of all the monsters that carry that item. In the case of monsters you will
be given the room numbers and the first line of the room descriptions for
all rooms where the specified monster can be encountered.

This is basically handy for the sysop who has not managed to memorize the
room, item and monster reports (snicker).

- Create an item

This option allows you to create an item. You specify an item number and
(optionally) a level factor. Item # is the item file index number of the
desired item. Level factor is the relative power of the item (determines
power, uses, weight, value, etc). If no level factor is specified, then
your psychic ability level will be used as a default.

The item is placed directly into your inventory.

- Generate reports

This option allows you to create three seperate reports based on the Chaos
  data files.

Monsters- Lists each monster and the items it carries.
Items - Lists each item and the monsters that carry them.
Rooms - Lists each room and the monsters and items found therein.

These reports are written to disk for your later perusal. They are handy
for referencing (finding that odd item that no one can seem to find) or as
  aids for designing new areas.

Caveat! Creating reports (particularly the item report) is a major drag on
the system. Basically the report generation process will monopolize your
CPU for a minute (or several minutes, depending on the report).
Consequently, reports should only be generated online when no one else is
on the system (or if users are on the system, they should be warned of the
  upcoming dead response time).

- Zap (delete) a player

This option disconnects the specified player (if they're currently playing
SoC) and then erases their character. The character is erased regardless of
whether or not they are online at the time you ZAP them.

- Suspend/reinstate a player

Use this option if for some reason you want to lock a player out of the
game temporarily. If they are currently online they will be booted off of
the system. Whether or not they are currently online, that character will
not be allowed in the game until such time as you decide to reinstate them.

- List players with special permissions

This option generates a list of all of the players who have any of their
  special permissions turned on.

- Remove monsters from a room

Use this option to clear monsters out of a room. Basically, it casts fear
  on all nearby monsters.

- Manually set current bounty

Use this option to manually set the current bounty. You can also specify
the duration (in minutes) of the bounty. If you do not a specify a
duration, the default duration is used.

- Toggle special permissions

This option lists (as well as allows you to toggle) the various special
permissions that your character has. The special permissions are used to
help adminstrate the game, as well as help to aid in testing.
  Permissions are:

  Player Editor Permission
Allows you to edit another player's character

  Room/Item/Monster Editor Permission
Allows you to edit the rooms, items and monsters in the game

  GameOp Permission
Grants a variety of special permissions allowing you to edit and
otherwise administrate the game. Players with GameOp permission
are not empowered to edit players (they must specifically be
assigned Player Editor Permission to do that). GameOps are
by default allowed to edit Rooms, Items and Monsters.

  Super powers
Grants a variety of special powers allowing you to play the game more
easily (no weight restrictions, unlimited cash, et al). If you want to
"legitimately" play the game, it is better to toggle this permission off.
   Otherwise, you're cheating.

  Unhittable
Cannot be hurt by players or monsters.

  Always Kills
Any weapon attacks or damage-dealing spell attacks will automatically
   kill a player or monster.

  Theft Always Successfull
When robbing, you always succeed in stealing something if the target has
   anything to steal.

  Invisible Port Permission
Allows you to occupy "Port 0". This port is generally invisible to the
rest of the players. You do not show up in the 'where' display, and
generally you are invisible to players in your current room. While
occupying port 0 you will encounter no monsters or be attacked by
already existing monsters. Handy for monitoring the game.

  No action timer
You can perform any action, regardless of the state of your action timer.

  Unlimited magic points
You can cast as many spells as you like, regardless of the state of your
   magic points.

  Intercept private messages
Copies to your port any player messages that you wouldn't otherwise see.
Once again, handy for monitoring the game.

- Edit the Hall of Fame

You can selectively reset portions of the Hall of Fame.
