                        @H@C3@B4:: Apple Macintosh Tips ::@R

   @C6If you are using an Apple Macintosh Computer with @HF-MODEM@R@C6, @HRED RYDER@R@C6, or another term program that supports @HVT52@R@C6, @HVT100@R@C6, or @HANSI@R@C6 emulation modes, you should use the ANSI Full Screen Editor for your posts, and not the default TTY editor. Check your account stats with the @HCONFIG@R@C6 command to view or change your emulation, screen width (it should be 80 characters), etc. Here's a quick note that addresses the fact that the MAC does not have a CONTROL key (@HCTRL@R@C6), as specified in the ANSI Editor's Helpfile:

   @C6The message editor puts you automatically into an @HOVERSTRIKE@R@C6 mode, has @Hword wrap@R@C6, and mentions using @H^X@R@C6 to toggle functions available to you.

   On the Macintosh@R@C6, @HOPTION-X@R@C6 is the same as the IBM's @H^X@R@C6. Use it within the ANSI Full Screen Editor to get to the @HFunction Prompt@R@C6. As you'll see, you then have dozens of possibilities. Here are the important ones to know:@R

OPTION -X   @C6Function Prompt@R
OPTION -Q   @C6Toggles between @HOVERSTRIKE@R@C6 and @HINSERT@R@C6 mode@R
OPTION -S   @C6Save your message@R
OPTION -A   @C6Abort your message@R
OPTION -?   @C6Help@R
OPTION -V @C6Re-view your text. If you've inserted color codes, the color
            will show before returning you to the editor (MAC II users can
            appreciate that anyway. Some term programs for the MAC will show
            @HBOLD@R@C6 text wherever color or highlighting has been used.

  Those are the basics. Many of the others listed are System Operator or special access only.
